My Nokia N90 Model...

Hi Readers,

This is my current phone model that I have been using for the pass 10 months. It's really a damn good phone even though it kind of bulky but it worth it to be carry around since the camera is quite sharp in auto focus. The speaker is also not bad, quite loud that what make me stuns at first, I was totally in love when I started to use this phone, previously I have use phone model Sharp SH903 from Japan, Nokia N70, Nokia 7610, Sony Ericsson S700i, Sony Ericsson P910i, PDA phone O2 mini and etc… compare to all that I must say that the N90 is worth buying… the X-factor is the twisting parts… go try it yourself… ;-)

Wonderful life...

Hi Readers,

Today is my happiest day in my life where my whole family got together and goes for outing. This type of chances will come once a while and not often we manage to see each other and sit down to chat. Ok let stop the emotional stuff and get down to business, we went to Changi beach to have our picnic, we plan this day for our annual family day. How interesting it is to have our very own family day even though I know majority of you out there mark the day, Sunday as your family day, it so called common for you guys out there to say Sunday is always family day but not for me I don’t. My family day is like once a year as everyone in my family is busy 24/7 with their tight schedule.

I always love Starbuck’s and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaves, due to their hot coco are really the best, it really helps me to relax even though I had a rough day ahead of me. It never fails to please me as I am a chocolate freak. What the hell, I don’t care what some of you guys out there think as far as I am concern; I am a really chocolate lover. Ever now and then I will ask my sis or my bro to buy for my chocolate bars or drinks when they go for business trip or holiday overseas as if you guys realize that the chocolate are totally different from Singapore except those in Malaysia, Jakarta and neighborhood countries.

Last but not lease, I want to go to Switzerland for my upcoming holiday. I know some of you out there are jealous of me due to I am able to go places like this and you can’t, but don’t forget that what ever I do, I have to use my own money without asking from my parent for any penny, that the harsh reality that I have to face. Nothing in this world is free lunch… ok then until here for my blog for today will be continue tomorrow so stay tune… cheers… v (^_^) v

My Outing...

Hi Readers,

Thanks for continue reading my blog even though sometime it kind of bored topic to discuss. Lately you guys know that I am busy with my final year projects and also a lot of workshop to attend to just to upgrade my leadership skills. By the way this coming Monday, 11th to 15th December 2006 is my workshop for basic presentation skills for radio deejays. After this workshop I will be able to become the school DJ for iRadio in Republic Polytechnic which located in Singapore for those who doesn’t know where is this republic polytechnic is located at? I assure that you all know me well by this time as I have being blogging for the pass few months.

Let me see, what should I talk about today? Oh yeah, to I went to library with both my parent, as this is the first time they accompany me to national library board with my nieces. Oh mine, my nieces are pro-hyperactive and it really very tiresome to look after them as they are very energetic like I have said earlier. Then, there is this group of girls sat in front of me and started to laugh out loud, I think they are trying to get full attention of their surroundings that they are very beautiful in such a way.

Nonetheless later, I will be going to airport to fetch my nephews whom just comeback from Australia for holidays. Actually I had to follow them to Australia to meet up with my grandfather who live with my uncle in Melbourne, Australia. But due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to stay in Singapore for my camp and etc… too bad for me, I had to spend my holiday in Singapore instead. Oh mine, I am so bored to stay in Singapore for my term break. I need to release myself so that I can live life to the fullest. I guess dream on as my parent are more concern about my studies then my needs of releasing stress.

By the way, I wanted to say that, I wanted to watch the latest movie that coming this December on the 11th. ‘Erogon’, is the title of the movie that I want to watch this Christmas holiday. Hope I will be able to watch it even though I had workshop on that day. What to do life itself is very stressful. Ops… my brain are totally blank now, I can’t continue typing for now, but keep coming back for more updates… cheers… and happy holidays to you all… v (^_^) v

Professional Profiling...

Oh my, today is my professional profiling regards to Immigration & Checkpoints Authority. At first I kind of nervous but after everything goes smoothly then I feel a bit relax and start too get comfortable with my presentation. The interviewer seems lack in asking question but I can understand that there is nothing to ask about my professional profiling as the poster is clear cut.

My presentation starts at 3pm and I reach school about 12 at noon and I have time to slack around and got the time to catch some DVD title to kill the remaining time before 3pm. At around 2.50pm I start walking toward the presentation corner, but what I see is that my interviewer already waits for me to start my presentation. If I knew that he will be there earlier, I might as well do it fast in the first place so that I can pack up and leave. By the way did I say my interviewer were actually a male? Yeah, that what happen to me today. He look so slack and worst of all he did not give any attention to my presentation skills and just ignore all the main point in my poster as he seems to be in a hurry… that all I have to say for today… hope you guys enjoy your holidays… by the way Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year… v (^_^) v

The dirt and the daisies on Google's new webmail service.

Everyone here went nuts when I started sending mail from my new Gmail account. It's the hottest new possession on the block, and on today's topic I'm telling you why this webmail is superior to the rest.

A gig of free storage! Yup, 2.3 gigabyte of storage comes with your account. That's about 1000 over songs worth of space. Ya like that, don't you?

Sweet Google search capability because Google is the king of searching, it has applied this awesome skill toward its email. If you're like me, you've got so many emails that it's hard to keep track and stay organized. This service will let you use the search box at the top of your mailbox to easily find keywords within your email. It's very handy and quite a bit faster than the search in my Yahoo! mail (although my Yahoo! account is way more crowded).

Starred email? This feature is helpful if you know an email is important and are afraid it will get buried. When the email comes in, there's a light blue star next to it. Click the star if you decide you want the message to stand out. The star will turn yellow, and the message will head into another folder (as well as remain in your in-box until you delete it). I like this feature because it's easy to use and unique to the service.

The layout rocks... The interface is simple, well designed, and nothing too fancy. Google made it this way on purpose, and that's why we love Google. The part I fell in love with right away was the conversation function. Holy guacamole, this is nice! First off, when you get an email that's part of a thread (someone replied to), there's a number next to it that lets you know how many times you and your pen pal have bounced back and forth. In other clients you see the whole thread, which makes finding the previous emails really annoying, especially if you need that info to remember what the hell you were talking about in the first place! With Gmail, just open the mail. You'll see tabs at the top with the names of the participants from each response. No more long emails with confusing breaks in them. This keeps everything compact. When you want to see the previous message, just click the appropriate tab. Genius! When replying, a box expands at the bottom of the page to keep the mail organized. It truly is great. The only thing I didn't like was the color scheme. Not cute!

Ads in email? This doesn't bother me, but some people aren't happy about it. Gmail uses Google Adsence ads in some emails that contain relevant content. This means Google's filters screen each email for keywords that will trigger an ad to appear discreetly on the right hand of your window. This is how Google can give you 2300MB free, yo. There's no such thing as a free lunch. People argue that this feels like Google is spying on them. In a sense it is. However, Google assures you that nothing will ever be done with the information it looks at. Again, it doesn't bother me.

Labels anyone? In Gmail, labels are actually folders. On the left side you'll see a green box called "Labels". You can create a label by clicking the Edit button. Enter the name of the label you want. Then add the label at any point while you're composing or reading an email by clicking the "Add Label" button at the top of the mail. The mail will still appear in your in-box (with a label symbol next to it) and in the label center. It's another easy way to keep everything organized and easily accessible.

Gotta love the 'shortcuts!' Yup you hear right... You can activate keyboard shortcuts by going into the "Settings" link at the bottom of any page and turning them on. Then, back at your in-box page, you can perform actions with the stroke of a key. You no longer need your mouse! You can do almost any action (go to in-box, compose an email) if you know the strokes, but you've got to learn them in order to use them. It's a cool function I'll probably use more often once I become more dependent on Gmail.

How about spam? Google already has some great filters in place, and it's going to continue to improve them. I haven't seen any spam yet, but you can mark mail as spam and block addresses.

Overall this service is pretty sweet. The only downsides were the whack color scheme in the conversation view and the whole ad thing. And of course getting everyone in your life to start using another email address for you is always fun! Google wouldn't tell me when the service will be open to everyone, but you'll be the first to know.

England's Queen Elizabeth has an iPod, according to The Sun newspaper.

"The 79-year-old monarch despatched a flunkey to buy the mini digital music player which has become all the rage," the paper reports.

The Sun's full report isn't available online, but an AFP summary says the Queen's second son, Prince Andrew, is behind the purchase. He bought his mother a cell phone in 2001 and taught her how to use it.

"The Queen loves music and was impressed by how small and handy the iPod is," a royal insider told the tabloid.

"Obviously it is quite complicated to download songs, but I'm sure one of the courtiers will do it for her."

Today's Tips for Mac OS X

What can I do if I forgot my user password?

If you've forgotten the password you created for your user account, have your Mac's administrator log in, open System Preferences, click Users, and edit your account to re-create your password. If you are the administrator, you'll need to restart your Mac using the OS X installation CD and reset your password. Insert the CD and restart your Mac while holding the C key until the Installer screen appears. When it does, choose Installer > Reset Password. Select the drive on which OS X is installed and choose your account from the first pop-up menu. Create a new password, click Save, close the window, and restart your Mac.

Bandwidth -- can it be stolen?

My brother recently acquired a new Dell laptop with a wireless network card, that allows him to use the computer to access high-speed service within the range of the card.

The very first thing we did with his new laptop, after I installed all the additional software he needed, was to copy the Stray Cats GH cd. Bingo. I'll listen to it in the truck over the weekend.

His primary service is a dial-up ISP but now, well...all bets are off.

A few weeks back I took a meeting with a guy at a Starbucks who had problems accessing the available starhub wireless service. I sent him off to buy a cuppa and a scone and while he was gone I used Windows to search for any available non-secured nets, found one in the neighborhood, and when he got back to the table, we were solidly online.

Using someone else's connection.

A few months back, my ADSL connection went sour while I needed to upload files to a website. I searched and found an open, unsecured connection, and uploaded the files.

Using someone else's connection.

I've used my laptop in libraries and other locations like HDB flats.

Using someone else's connection.

So what's the woof if Jason uses a slice of a neighbor's web-pie just because he can and just because he lives next door, especially when they're not using their 24-hour always-on connection?

Or if someone uses a slice of mine, especially when my LinSys broadband router shoots a radio signal hither and yon?

Is there a crime here? WTF goes on?

How Mike Made Mickey More Cheese

Back before the elections, much was written about how Disney would not distribute Fahrenheit 9/11, the anti-Bush movie made by Michael Moore, because that would put the company at risk for "retribution" at their Florida amusement properties by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Edward Jay Epstein tells how The Mouse managed to make a huge pile of dough anyway.

"The net receipts returned to Disney were $78 million. Disney now had to pay Michael Moore's profit participation. (snip) Disney, in honoring this deal, paid Moore a stunning $21 million. Moore never disclosed the amount of his profit participation. When asked about it, the proletarian Moore joked to reporters on a conference call, 'I don't read the contracts.'"
